EP 28 - What I've Learned In One Year of Podcasting - Happy National Podcast Day!

Hi Amigos!

Welcome back and HAPPY NATIONAL PODCAST DAY!!

I can’t believe we are 28 episodes in and it’s been almost 1 year since I started the podcast! From a simple idea to a fully executed show.

I’ll be honest, I really didn’t want to record this episode today. I’ve had a weird day. You know those days when you wake up and you’re just not feeling your best. You prefer to be home watching movies and cuddling with your dog. But once I started writing up what I wanted to talk about for this episode, I realized how much this show has given me. It has motivated me, inspired me, accepted me, and connected me in so many ways. So here I am sharing with you some of the things this show has taught me.

Look at the facts and the proof. There are people just like you doing what they love! So can you! So can WE! It’s never too late. Thank you to everyone I’ve had on the show so far. I can’t wait to continue connecting with others.

  1. Everyone has 1 path, it’s their own and there’s no need to compare. EVERYONE on this show has spoken about their journey and it has not matched another person’s stories. And the most fascinating part of it is that most of them are all musicians and yet their journeys are all different.

  2. It’s never too late to do something. The episode with Francine is a great example of this. She studied law and decided later in her career that she actually loved pilates. With that said my next point -

  3. Age is just a number - it’s NEVER too late. Granted most of the people I’ve had on the pod are all roughly 23 - 33 years old, but the convos I’ve had outside of the podcast have been with people of all ages and guess what? It’s the same.

  4. Your success and failures are part of your journey. I started asking 2 questions every episode - what’s your biggest success and what’s your biggest failure? Well, that was inspired by Sarah Blakely who mentioned in a podcast that her father used to ask them that at the dinner table every night.

  5. Forget about what other people tell you you need to be or who you are. You decide that. If I had listened to what everyone wanted from me instead of what I wanted for myself, I can guarantee you I would be a lot less happy. Glad I chose to follow my gut.

  6. DO IT MESSY! Just start!
